As the time fast approaches

As the time fast approaches for the Norwood Art Association, Inc. to hold its 30th anniversary exhibit, “Art in the Park,” on the Town Common on June 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (rain date June 29), the following is a bit of background describing what the Norwood Art Association is all about holiday insurance.

The show is open to the public free of charge. Besides the original framed art pieces, the very popular cards and bin work originals and prints will be available.

When NAA first started in 1978, notices were typed up on a typewriter and copies were made up in black and white with no fancy trim or color. Younger women have joined the art association and brought it up to date with their computer know-how mortgage calculators.

The president, Cynthia Rudolph, wears many hats. She leads the group, composes the monthly newsletters, coordinates the work of various committees, and hosts the monthly demonstration meetings. She is currently preparing a promotional booklet and a list of the participating artists to be handed out at the show.

The organization also depends on the computer savvy Frank Palmieri, who makes up colorful posters and post cards to publicize events. The workforce for NAA is made up of other unpaid volunteers, many of them board members who plan upcoming events. medical insurance

The board members are Cynthia Rudolph, president; Bernice Winer, secretary; Diane Raymond, treasurer; Ann O’Malley, demonstrations; Doris Pilavios, membership; Inez Reardon, publicity; Ellie Dillon, refreshments and mailings; Nancy Norton, classes. Members at Large are Diane Connolly, Irene Crowley, Fran Palmieri, and Pricilla DiCesare.

One must be a paid-up member to enter the shows held usually in the summer and the in the fall, plus Norwood Day participation. Dues are only $15 a year.

Newcomers at any level are invited and one need not be a Norwood resident to join. Many of our members are from surrounding towns. An invitation is extended to all who love art in any form or media. One does not need to be an artist to become a member commercial real estate, just have an interest.
