The Fourth Annual Dighton Arts Festival, sponsored by the Dighton Lions Club, will be held on Sunday, November 2nd at Araujo Farms and Greenhouses in Dighton The Dighton Lions Club is offering a series of pre-festival workshops in October (ARTober) at Araujo Farms as part of its ongoing effort to build interest in and appreciation for the arts in our community. Please note that space is limited and pre-registration is required. Please register early to assure your space.
ARToberFest Workshops
All workshops will be held in a heated, enclosed greenhouse at Araujo Farms, 1460 Williams Street, Dighton, on Saturday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.. Pre-registration with payment is required.
OCTOBER 4TH: DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY
Join Dighton Arts Festival exhibitor/photographer Ron O?Connor for an introduction to digital photography. Learn how to use your digital camera to take better photographs. The registration fee will include an opportunity for participants to exhibit one photograph at the Dighton Arts Festival. Details will be available at the workshop. Limited to 12 participants.
OCTOBER 11TH: SONGWRITING
Michael Troy of Somerset is an award-winning singer/songwriter who will be performing at the Fourth Annual Dighton Arts Festival. This workshop will focus on essential elements of successful songwriting for youth and adults. If you are working on a song, feel free to bring it to the workshop. OCTOBER 18TH: MANGA STUDIO (JAPANESE CARTOONING)
Dighton Lions Club member Chris MacDonald and his son Nathaniel will provide a workshop on Manga (Japanese Cartooning). If you are familiar with this popular form of cartooning, you won't want to miss this workshop! Limited to 15 participants.
OCTOBER 25TH: MASK-MAKING
Sarah Manuels will lead a mask-making workshop for children 6-11 years of age Sarah will be face-painting at the Dighton Arts Festival again this year! Limited to 12 participants.
