Photo Safaris

What is a Photo Safari
A photo safari is an event sponsored and organized by the Dighton Art Association. It is an opportunity for photographers to get together in a new and fun environment to boost their creativity, learn more about the art of photography, and have fun experimenting with their equippment and techniques in a relaxed and inspirational atmosphere.

Our Safari in June was to an estate property here in Dighton.

Coming this summer .... a guided photo canoe/kayak trip with Canoe Passage Outfitters of Taunton and Warren, RI. Still working on the details of this trip. They have one scheduled for July 8th out of Warren for $65.00 so that might be the one.

Here's the description of the photo canoe/kayak trip:
The Narragansett Bay and its adjacent rivers are places of great beauty with an abundance of nature. Spend a day developing your own passion and talent in an introductory class taking spectacular photos of this unmatched splendor. Capture images of hawks, great blue herons, Canada geese, osprey, red wing black birds, yellow warblers, ducks and other wildlife. Read more at their website.

Sounds great! I'm holding the date!

Photo Safari

It was a beautiful summer day to explore this exceptional property in Dighton, Massachusetts. The Dighton Art Association would like to thank the owners for the privilege of allowing us to roam freely through the acres of manicured lawn and gardens, stone walls and old growth forest. The sound of the waterfall over the remains of the old mill and the stream running through this property set the background and on occasion the focus for our photographs. The house itself was amazing with so much architectural detail beckoning us to come closer. The varying lighting and beautiful scenes left us inspired and challenged at every turn. It was a great opportunity to become more familiar with our camera's and exchange ideas and information. This outing was a success. A fun, and educational time was had by all.
